BENEFITS

Drug Hunter Analyser is the first drug analyzer in the world for immediate quantitative results in oral fluid (saliva

The portability and user-friendly interface of Drug Hunter makes it ideal for use

  • police departments
  • customs and borders
  • prison
  • airport security checkpoints
  • hospitals
  • forensic laboratories
  • workplaces

Drug Hunter combines Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) and native fluorescence

Drug Hunter identifies and quantifies the illegal drug even in multidrug use cases. It covers DRUID (Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Alcohol and Medicines) recommended equivalent cut-offs in oral fluid samples.

Additionally, Drug Hunter complies with the EMA ICH M10 guidelines, which provide recommendations for validating bioanalytical assays and methods of chemical and biological drugs and their metabolites in biological matrices.

Capillary electrophoresis (CE)

Drug Hunter Analyzer utilizes capillary electrophoresis (CE) to separate each illegal drug. CE combines high speed and simplicity, providing excellent separation efficiency.

Native Fluorescence

Drug Hunter Analyzer detects native fluorescence of illegal drugs. Many well-known illegal drugs, their precursors, and other regulated compounds have native fluorescence if excited within the UV wavelength range.

Symbiosis of Technologies

Drug Hunter allows to identify and quantify
the following illegal drugs in oral fluid:

  • Amphetamine
  • Methamphetamine
  • Ecstasy (MDMA) and its analogs (MDA, MDEA, PMA, PMMA)
  • Cocaine and its metabolite cocaethylene
  • Opioids use – morphine, tramadol
  • Marijuana cannabinoids (THC, HHC, CBD) (marijuana use)

FAQ

1. What can be found in the “Science, Strategy & Support Always On” section?

This section brings together key Drug Hunter resources, including datasheets, compliance documentation, implementation examples, and training videos. It also features frequently asked questions, helping teams stay equipped with the latest knowledge in portable analytical technologies.

2. Which sectors is Drug Hunter designed for and how is it useful?

Drug Hunter is the world’s first analyzer capable of delivering near-instant quantitative results for drugs in saliva. Thanks to its portability and user-friendly interface, the device is suitable for use in law enforcement, customs services, correctional facilities, airports, hospitals, forensic laboratories, and workplace testing environments.

3. What technologies does Drug Hunter use for analysis and why are they effective?

The device combines capillary electrophoresis (CE) with ultraviolet detection. CE provides high speed, operational simplicity, and excellent separation efficiency. Native fluorescence detection enables the identification of signals from a wide range of known drugs, their precursors, and regulated compounds that exhibit native fluorescence in the UV spectrum.

4. Which substances can Drug Hunter detect?

Through the synergy of CE and fluorescence detection, the device can identify and quantify:
• Amphetamine
• Methamphetamine
• Ecstasy (MDMA) and related compounds (MDA, MDEA, PMA, PMMA)
• Cocaine and its metabolite cocaethylene
• Opioids (morphine, tramadol)
• Cannabinoids (THC, HHC, CBD)

5. Does Drug Hunter comply with international standards and recommendations?

Yes. The analyzer is designed to support threshold levels recommended by the DRUID program (“Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Alcohol and Medicines”) for oral fluid samples. The device also aligns with EMA ICH M10 guidance, which defines requirements for the validation of bioanalytical methods used to assess chemical and biological substances and their metabolites.
